Notice of Effective Date for New Rules of the Tennessee Real Estate Appraiser Commission
Pursuant to Tenn. Code Ann. § 4-3-1306(d), you are receiving this notice because you have elected to receive notification by e-mail of certain changes or potential changes to the law applicable to your profession.
The Tennessee Real Estate Appraiser Commission (“Commission”) approved the proposed rules at the rulemaking hearing conducted on April 5, 2022. The rules were filed with the Secretary of State on July 26, 2022 and will become effective October 24, 2022. The rules have been filed as Rulemaking Hearing Rules and will be promulgated ninety (90) days from the filing date.
The proposed rules amend the requirements for continuing education (“CE”). Presently, licensees are only able to take up to one-half (1/2) CE via distance education. Due to the increased usage and requirement of technology in a mostly remote environment, the Commission intends to amend the rules to allow licensees to take all CE classes via distance education. The education provisions for registered trainees, state licensed, certified residential, and certified general real estate appraisers have been updated to reflect this change.
