Notice of Effective Date for New Rules for
Tennessee Board for Licensing Contractors

Pursuant to Tenn. Code Ann. § 4-3-1306(d), you are receiving this notice because you have elected to receive notification by e-mail of certain changes or potential changes to the law applicable to your profession.

The Tennessee Board for Licensing Contractors reviewed proposed rules and voted to approve the rules at a rulemaking hearing conducted on November 30, 2021. These rules were filed with the Secretary of State on June 23, 2022 and will become effective on September 21, 2022. The rules have been filed as Rulemaking Hearing Rules and will be promulgated ninety (90) days from the filing date.

The proposed rules amend Tenn. Comp. R. & Regs. Chapter 0680-01 (Licensing), providing individual Board members with the applicable subject matter expertise the ability to review, consider, and approve contractor applications outside of regularly scheduled Board meetings. Additionally, the rule amendments modify the timing of Board meetings.
