Notice of New Rules for the Tennessee
Board of Funeral Directors and Embalmers

Pursuant to Tenn. Code. Ann. § 4-3-1306(d), you are receiving this notice because you have elected to receive notification by e-mail of certain changes or potential changes to the law applicable to your profession.

The Tennessee Board of Funeral Directors and Embalmers considered new rules at its September 9, 2014 regularly scheduled meeting. These new rules replaced the emergency rules for removal services. These rules were adopted in accordance and compliance with Tenn. Code Ann. §§ 62-5-101(10) and 62-5-318, and the General Assembly’s 2013 Public Chapter 437. These rules address definitions, licensing, and fees for removal services.

These rules were adopted after a rulemaking hearing on September 9, 2014. These rules were filed with the Secretary of State on December 3, 2014. A copy of these new rules is available on the Secretary of State’s website at http://www.tn.gov/sos/rules_filings/12-07-14.pdf.  These rules will become effective on March 3, 2015.
