Notice of Effective Date for New Rules for
Tennessee Auctioneer Commission
Pursuant to Tenn. Code Ann. § 4-3-1306(d), you are receiving this notice because you have elected to receive notification by e-mail of certain changes or potential changes to the law applicable to your profession.
The Tennessee Auctioneer Commission held a rulemaking hearing regarding these rules on October 6, 2014 and, following that hearing, filed the Rulemaking Hearing Rules with the Secretary of State on September 6, 2016. These rules went into effect on December 16, 2016.
These rules create an expedited license application process for certain member of the military and clarify certain duties of licensed auctioneers. Rule number 0160-01-.28 pertaining to a Online Auctions, which set out conditions under which an online auction may be held pursuant to T.C.A. § 62-19-103(9), received a negative recommendation by the Joint Government Operations Committee and, therefore, may not be applicable after June 30, 2017.
