Side-by-Side Burn Demonstration Highlights Fire Sprinklers
Demonstration Set for Tuesday, Oct 6 Near Bicentennial Mall State Park Plaza
NASHVILLE – National, state, and local fire service leaders will highlight how fast fire can travel, the effectiveness of fire sprinklers in burning homes and provide fire safety tips and solutions during a side-by-side burn demonstration at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 6 near the Bicentennial Mall State Park Plaza in Nashville.
Planned as part of National Fire Prevention Week, the demonstration is the result of the partnership between the Tennessee State Fire Marshal’s Office (SFMO), the National Fire Sprinkler Association, the Tennessee Fire Service Coalition and the Tennessee Fire Chiefs Association.
Fire sprinklers protect the lives of residents and first responders while safeguarding valuable property, reducing insurance premiums and adding value to the homes they protect. With today’s fires burning hotter and faster than ever, this side-by-side demonstration will show the effects of fire in a non-sprinklered room and the effectiveness of home fire sprinklers.
