The State Fire Marshal’s Office would like to thank each of our partners for remaining patient and steadfast over the last month while we worked to retool the administrative processes of Get Alarmed. As we wrap up the final details of this shutdown period, we are excited to unveil the modifications that will help to ensure the program runs as efficiently and effectively as possible. We are excited to annouce the following five improvements:

1. Organization Administrators (Org Admins) - Each organization will have a designated administrator that will be tasked with the inventory responsibility, record keeping, training of alarm installers, organization of community-wide campaigns, and submitting requests for alarm resupplies.

2. Training - A training program has been created and implemented to mitigate any questions regarding Org Admin’s roles for their partnering organization. The Org Admin will be required to take the “Org Admin Training” prior to receiving a resupply of alarms. This training should not take more than 20 minutes to complete. An additional training program will be available for alarm installers.

3. Forms - The “Alarm Summary Installation Report Form” has been updated to streamline the documentation of alarm installations. In addition, the new “Alarm Request and Receipt Form” will help guarantee that your alarm resupply request is handled in a timely manner. These forms can be found at tn.gov/commerce/article/fire-get-alarmed.

4. Collector - Collector, a mobile app for documenting alarm installations, is now an option as an alternative to paper installation reports. If your department has the means to document installations electronically and is interested in joining Collector, please contact the SFMO.

5. Organization Status - Through the use of risk analysis and performance review, we have implemented an organization status for each department. This is will be elaborated on in the Org Admin training. The organization status will help recognize organizations that excel in the program, as well as determine the size and frequency of alarm supply.

Alarm deliveries and canvasses are now being scheduled. If you would like to request a resupply of alarms, please fill out the “Alarm Request and Receipt Form” found at the link above. Alarm deliveries and canvasses are only available to those who have completed the Org Admin training program. This program is in its final phase of testing and is anticipated to be live within the next week. An additional FIREcomm will provide further details on the Org Admin training, including access instructions.

Again, we appreciate your participation in Get Alarmed, Tennessee as we continue to improve our community risk reduction strategies to prevent fire loss across the state. If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to contact us.
