Legislative Update for the
Tennessee Board of Funeral Directors and Embalmers
The Tennessee General Assembly has recently made changes to statutes which may impact you as a holder of a license with the Division of Regulatory Boards. These new changes set out in the following Public Chapters specifically amend the Tennessee Code Annotated as follows:
Public Chapter 161 (SB194/HB163) requires that any Board employee who inspects a crematory be a certified crematory operator and requires that the two Board members currently required to be licensed as either funeral directors or embalmers may also hold both licenses.
